Matt Damon is People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive right now, as of today. They apparently chose him because of his irresistible sense of humor, he’s a rock solid family man, and has heart-melting humility. To be completely honest, I’m not that fussed either way. Damon isn’t a douche bag, he’s not some pompous arrogant movie star ego.
I can’t ever figure out if Brad Pitt, who comes in at number 4, is full of himself and is a major delusional diva. James McAvoy from Atonement is number 5. He’s rather dashing but you know that underneath that Scottish accent is a whole lot of pushy drama student. Ben Affleck’s looking fat at number 11, Adrian Grenier looks like a heavily made up wax doll at 12 and there aren’t any ironic entries until after the top 15 – which makes sense. The token “geeks are hot!” guys get some airplay but not anything more than mercy airplay which we already knew would be the case. Is this sort of a publicist’s vehicle rather than a journalistic one? I mean, there is cultural merit in something like this but I’d imagine that publicist clout would determine SOME ranking.
