The Daily Mail is reporting that Lynn Spears’ new memoir Through The Storm: A Real Tale Of Fame And Family In A Tabloid World will actually focus on how screwed up her daughter Britney Spears’ life has been so far. She details that Britney started drinking when she was 13, she had sex soon after and was experimenting with drugs around the time she went to LA to record “Hit Me Baby One More Time”.
It’s not at all surprising that there is a massive chasm of difference between the image portrayed by her record company and the reality of her life but I just love that Lynn Spears was all set to release her book “Pop Culture Mom” before Britney shaved her head and it was going to be a book about how she has managed to successfully raise her kids in the glare of the media spotlight but seeing as her daughter had a meltdown she can’t pull that shit off convincingly so she went the other route and is selling her daughter out.
Of course, like a politician, she makes the book about how SHE is responsible somewhat and she explains some of the decisions she made. My favourite is when she said ' If she had known helping her daughter Britney follow her dreams would cost her her soul, she would never have done it.'. Because stuffing your pre-pubescent kid’s chest full of silicon implants before she actually developed breasts and then tarting her up like a child prostitute was a totally innocent set of decisions to make. No one could possibly have known that that would have led her to feel soulless and abused. Amazing.
