According to the Daily Telegraph in Australia, Heath Ledger was taking medication that has been found to be dangerous and that might explain the lethal effect it had on him. Ultimately though, it seems that his tragic death wasn’t a suicide, that it was an accident.
This whole thing is so out of left field. New York City went haywire last night with everyone racing to his place on Broome Street in Soho. It’s astonishing that everyone knew within like an hour of it happening. I guess not when you think about it.
There seems to be a sincere difference between Heath’s death and the death of someone like Anna Nicole Smith. They’re vastly different people but my main point is that there is fundamentally less exploitation of his death than there was hers. I mean there are still a few people who are writing things like "I bet he did it for attention" but substantially less than with Anna Nicole. [source]
