Tara Reid apparently fell over in Bali and that warranted a write up on Celebtv.com. The report also adds that she is looking thinner than usual.

Actually, Tara Reid has been getting some great press recently what with her hosting the Hooker’s Ball in the cultural mecca that is Darwin, Australia, the fact that everyone knew she was trying to whore herself out as a Hollywood A-Lister to other events in Australia for $35K an appearance but no one would bite at that price so she lowered her price by 90% and now she’s falling over in Bali. Plus, this isn’t the first time she’s fallen over either. She’s fallen at all sorts of events all over the world.

At this rate, with this kind of top quality visibility, there’s no way she won’t be back in the game as a top notch leading comedic actress in no time. There’s something clean and focused about Tara Reid that makes me feel confident about her future and in fact, the future of cinema and western culture. I see no reason why her travel series "Taradise" shouldn't be on TV again. Also, no news on weather her digestive system has passed the wreckage that seems stuck just beneath the skin of her stomach though. [source]

Variety is reporting that director John Singleton whose previous cinematic masterpieces include “2 Fast 2 Furious” and the relentlessly challenging "Poetic Justice" starring Janet Jackson is gearing up to direct and cast (hopefully not in that order) a big screen movie length feature remake of “The A Team”. They’re putting a modern spin on the film so it’s about oil tycoons and laser weapons or some crap.

Plus, they’ll probably get Mr. T to come out of hiding, don the jewels and stand behind a counter and serve burgers to the newly cast A Team and everyone in the audience will laugh in the same way that people laugh at jokes when you see a Shakespeare comedy; looking around the theatre to see who saw them laugh so they can gloat about getting the humour. "See, I got it even though the language is the play is so foreign to our daily dialect in contemporary culture, I got it!" God, I hate that. It’s just not ever really laugh out loud funny.
While there’s speculation about who will play who in this remake, the biggest question of all, ie.
“Why the fuck is this movie being made at ALL?” remains unanswered. We’re now in the same situation as we were with the remake of “Bewitched” and "Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles".

Who is waiting for this movie to be made?
Was there some massive market research campaign launched that said that there’s a surplus of people in the mid thirties who are stupid enough to want to see movie length remakes of 80s TV series because since the shows they watched as adolescents haven’t been on TV in literally decades they’ve basically done nothing at all? I mean, the Sex and the City movie franchise makes business sense because the series only ended a little while ago and there’s some kind of cultural resonance.
The A Team? Why the A Team?
WHY?!

I bet there’s a massive contingent of donut and bear eating, hunting cap, plaid shirt and overalls wearing white men who live in their parents’ basement at the age of 35 that are to blame for this kind of thing. I blame them. God, I totally blame them for this crap and so many other things too. Like, I sort of even blame them for the cold. [source]

Pamela Anderson is divorcing her husband of 72 days, Rick Salomon according to CelebTV.com and it still is kind of shocking.

I really think that most of the time Pam Anderson has a really good grip on reality. She’s totally aware of how completely ludicrous everything is and she knows her entire career is based on her breasts – she talks about it all the time. That’s why it’s weird that she would marry some freakin’ pimp and then divorce him minutes later.

I mean, what the hell happened during the past say, 80 days that meant that she really needed to marry him and then, weeks later, having seriously sat and thought about her future and the kinds of decisions she’s been making of late, completely disconnect from him? On can only assume Pam Anderson has been doing some real soul searching and is getting in touch with her deeper self. Maybe Rick Salomon doesn’t wear underwear or deodorant. Yeah, that’s probably it. What kind of an example is he setting for her kids; stinking up the car all the time.

Actually, maybe it was just a business arrangement. In the sense that Anderson sells her breasts she’s kind of a whore and in fact, I seem to remember Ruby Wax stating that she felt Anderson was one of the most clued in celebrities she’d ever interviewed because when Wax asked Anderson what she wanted to be, Anderson replied “A big ho”. And if you really examine her body of work it’s clear that everything screams mission effectively accomplished.

Salomon, whose one real claim to fame was his decision to hawk the sex tape he made of himself and Paris Hilton is, in essence a pimp. Sounds like the perfect arrangement. The Pimp and the Ho.

Boy, it’s a sad day in Hollywood when even pimps and hos can’t keep it together. [source]

Week # 50 in Review

Mere months after a video tape was leaked in a failed attempt to discredit entertainer David Hasselhoff showing drunk on his bathroom floor trying to eat a hamburger him, news was released that he had relapsed into alcoholism and had urinated on himself before being checked into Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

Pop star Britney Spears failed to show up to court for her deposition citing illness as her excuse and was then seen aimlessly driving around Los Angeles filling up her car with gas and accidentally leaving her assistant behind at one point. Despite such erratic and self negating behavior, a French producer named Phillippe Rebboah announced that he was interested in Spears playing the part of the Virgin Mary in a contemporary satirical remake of the story of the birth of Christ called “Sweet Baby Jesus”.

Rocker Marilyn Manson announced that his mother still has his foreskin in a little jar and that at some point in the future he might sell it at auction, the members of the band Fall Out Boy were upset at pop star Ashlee Simpson and accused her of having a poisonous touch after it was announced that the band was not nominated for any Grammy Awards this year and the new campaign for Rich Prosecco in a can featuring socialite Paris Hilton was released and it showed Hilton painted in gold lying around in a desert.
It was reported that pop star Madonna was doing yoga in a class on New York City’s Upper West Side and got into an altercation with the teacher which eventuated in her insisting that everyone leave the room so she could continue the class by herself, Democratic pundit and star of HBO’s “Big Love” Lawrence O’Donnell went on The McLaughlin Group and described Mormonism as being a “demented, Scientology-like . . . racist faith . . . based on the work of a lying, fraudulent criminal . . . [who was] anti-American, pro-slavery, and a rapist.", and it was speculated that actors Ryan Gosling and Hayden Panettiere were romantically involved.

Rumours circulated that Anna Wintour’s most recent headshot has been extravagantly retouched to cover signs of age, the first images of soccer star David Beckham’s new underwear campaign for Armani Exchange were released, actor Jack Nicholson said that he’s probably slept with 9000 women, rock star Pete Doherty was hit in the face by a drug dealer in a bar in London and the TV wedding between The Hills characters Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt was called off but the couple are apparently still together.
Ellen Degeneres announced that she has teamed up with former Meow Mix owner Richard Thompson to help fix up animal shelters all over the country, the Olsen Twins’ love of fur inspired PETA to construct an entire website that focused on trashing them and rumours circulated that there might actually be two Sex and the City movie sequels.

In numbers and records news, the word “wOOt!” was announced as Merriam Webster’s word of the year and 63% of Australian polled said that they thought morbidly obese people should be forced to buy two seats if they want to travel on commercial aircrafts.
In Europe, a 64 year old man decided to guzzle an entire litre of vodka rather than give it up to customs at the Nuremberg airport thus inflicting himself with alcohol poisoning, David Leggat spent 100 hours in the public toilet of a lawn bowling club near the Scottish city of Aberdeen with no cell phone or food because the handle on the outside of the door fell off, and the Italian City of Venice ruled that there would be penalties imposed on families whose funerals ran later than anticipated.

The Muslim nation of Tajikistan began a conscious crackdown on witchcraft and the occult, extravagant weddings and extravagant funerals and Brunei’s crown prince Al-Muhtadee Billah installed a full sized pool table in his hotel suite while competing in the Southeast Asian Games and was knocked out of the competition in the pre quarter finals.
Scientists in South Korea announced that they have discovered a way to make cats glow in the dark, crime committed in Japan by people over the age of 65 has increased three fold over the past ten years, 65 year old Pappan, a resident of the Indian state capital of Thiruvananthapuram bit a rabid dog in retaliation to being attacked, hotels in Beijing were listing their room prices as being ten times what is generally considered reasonable in the build up to the Olympics and a number of Chinese marathon runners were fined 10,000 yuan by the Chinese athletic Association for wearing numbers that weren’t pinned on their clothing adequately therefore obscuring the logo of a sponsor.

“It not only obscured his number and the sponsor’s trademark, it also exposed another sponsor,” reported the China Youth Daily Newspaper.

Today in Extraordinarily Odd

Wow, Brunei's Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah is kind of a real douche bag. Here’s why. He’s one of the richest men in the world with his father apparently worth around 22 billion dollars so he can basically afford anything. He’s currently playing in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games nine-ball competition which means he plays pool for a living. Ok, no big deal. To compete he’s staying at the Nakhon Ratchasima's Royal Princess Hotel and just spent a fortune to put a billiard table in his hotel so he could practice day and night. Plus, he’s moved in with his massively necessary entourage of cooks and assistants and security. Gosh, to think about it, wouldn’t it be crap to go to all that conspicuous effort and then not even need to stay at the hotel that long. I mean that would be so unnecessary, self aggrandizing and embarrassing. So, anyway, then he went and got disqualified from the competition in the pre-quarter finals. I mean, how many rounds did he even play? Gosh, how embarrassing. He’s like one of those kids who gets their parents to buy them a tank just because they’re thinking about going into the army. Which they never do. I wonder if he shouts abuse at his mother. [source]

An actual man in actual India has actually bitten and actual dog. It’s pure journalism! Pappan, a 65-year-old resident of the Quilon district 60km north of state capital Thiruvananthapuram, bit the dog after it attacked his duck on Wednesday, the Press Trust of India reported. Why is it that Indian people can’t seem to get a handle on how to normally interact with dogs? I mean, they stone them, marry them and now they’re biting them. Jesus, it’s just a dog. Get a freaking therapist. Like, now. India, get a therapist and talk about your childhood and the dogs featured in it. [source]

Ten years ago in Japan people over the age of 65 were committing 1/3 the crimes they are now. Nowadays it seems that they’re on a rampage. Apparently assaults by older people rose to 1,700 from just 100 and I would believe it. Old Japanese people are like small tanks. I mean the working class ones – particularly the ones who live in New York. What am I basing this on? Nothing really. But the image of a whole lot of old people in Japan holding up 7-11s makes me think of a genius idea for a film which is Cocoon meets Natural Born Killers meets manga. I feel like that might finally fill a niche that is desperately unfilled. [source]

Apparently David Hassellhoff has relapsed into alcoholism and had to check into Cedars Sinai Hospital for alcohol poisoning and the first thing that seriously came to mind when I read that was “Ok, what is he in right now, what is he promoting?”

Last time this happened it seemed so completely contrived. The video tape of him drunk being filmed by his essentially unemotional kid as he attempted to shovel a hamburger into his face was leaked at exactly the same time that he was on a bunch of shows that desperately needed promoting – not to mention his flailing career AND it was immediately revealed that the short movie was actually shot 3 months before and that he had been completely rehabilitated since then.

A source told the National Enquirer that “David was a total mess. He’d urinated on himself. He was drooling and slurring so badly you couldn’t understand a word he said."

And the thing is, if he did that convincingly as an actor in a movie he might have some substance to his career and therefore wouldn’t be so desperate and forced to be so fake happy and plastic all the time. It’s all so intriguing how it works. It’s like a cycle of horror. A cycle of sparkling, vomit fueled, urine soaked horror. [source]

The New York Daily News reports that all the other members of Fall Out Boy, because there actually are some besides the irritatingly hot Pete Wentz, are blaming Ashlee Simpson for the fact that they didn’t get any Grammy nominations this year. They’re saying that anything she touches “turns to poison” and they “wish she’d stop touching Pete”. I actually think that this has got to have been brewing for a while now.

There’s no way a hyper styled emo band could possibly be ok with their most valuable member hanging out with a plastic, generic Barbie doll air head. I mean, if he were dating say, a 23 year old Courtney Love and they got into fights and were seen covered in blood walking out of hotels then fine but Simpson? I mean, if you want to have edge you have to stick with edge. Amy Winehouse is a perfect example of that. She’s dating a manipulative mooching idiot whose last name is paradoxically “Civil”. It works perfectly.

The Simpson family brand are plastic, Republican American showbiz fluff. Fall Out Boy could go either way in terms of fluff with all their corporately sponsored tours and high production values and contrived grunge. Simpson’s plastic nose and insincere smile drag them way into the field of cutesy, fake pop and it sucks out their souls.

Or what’s left of them.

But then, for Fall Out Boy to have a Yoko Ono could rally opinions and attention where there may have previously been none so whatever. Keep her or throw her out – either way works. And frankly, this subject seems to be Ashlee’s only real hope of press at the moment. I’m actually having trouble with the fact that Rumer Willis dated Pete Wentz. That actually hurts. [source]

Today in Extraordinarily Odd

So, some scientists in South Korea have just figured out how to make cats glow in the dark and the implications of this research and discovery are vast when you’re talking about genetic manipulation for humans etc. Stand by for glow in the dark kim chi and "pork" dumplings. Oh, I kid. My main area of interest in this is getting rid of all these hyper color t shirts I still have from the mid nineties. Actually, I had some hyper color underwear too. My theory is that when the glow in the dark cats start getting made into coats on the streets in China, everyone will be excited about glow in the dark clothes again and that could flow on to clothes that change color with heat. I guess it’s a long shot but I sure hope so. I’ve been waiting and waiting and this might be my chance. [source]

A couple of Chinese marathon runners were just fined by the Chinese Athletic Association (CAA) for wearing numbers that weren’t pinned on adequately and therefore didn’t display the logo of some specific sponsors. They were fined 10,000 yuan. “It not only obscured his number and the (sponsor's) trademark, it also exposed another sponsor," the China Youth Daily newspaper said. I would suggest that on average, the runners themselves are focusing – probably entirely – on the marathon they are running rather than the state of their number labels. Just a guess. Is it too much to suggest that at the rate they’re going preparing for the Olympics, in six months they’ll be sacrificing children if various officials don’t comply with rules and floss their teeth, for example, at the right time? I would suggest that I am most certainly NOT over reacting. Thank you. [source]

The New York Post reports that the feeling about the new Sex and the City Movie is that it will be SO extraordinarily good that two sequels are entirely possible. That’s great and all but what the hell could this movie really cover that the series didn’t AND what could TWO OTHER movies cover?

Movies that come out of TV shows are almost always one long episode and I will believe this show is different when I see it.
What will be good to see with this is if Kim Cattrall exhibits the same level of scrutiny to the quality of the scripts for these sequels as she did with the first one. After all, if you look at her career in movies and TV she’s got a terribly keen eye for quality. There was that 2002 masterpiece, “Crossroads” with Mademoiselle Spears and of course, who can forget 1987’s “Mannequin”? Certainly not me. In fact, it’s becoming a problem. I lay awake at night, plagued by night terrors thinking about Kim Cattrall in “Mannequin”. l'orrore è inesorabile. [source]

Britney was meant to show up to court to talk about custody of her two children but Mark Kaplan, K-Fed’s lawyer announced that she was apparently too sick to show. Ok, fair enough. I mean, it seems reasonable that she would be ill what with the amount of chain restaurant garbage she funnels into her gullet on a daily basis.

I mean, where are the green vegetables in her diet?

I’m inclined to believe that there aren’t any seeing as we know everything else about her and I’ve never once see a picture of Brit posing with a stalk of broccoli. I’m fairly certain I’m not the only one who would enjoy it if she wandered about with a couple of vegetables and smiled while holding them up to her sparkling face as though they were prizes on Wheel of Fortune.

Anyway, apparently not.

Britney was so ill that she was driving around until 2am though. Driving around, getting gas, forgetting her assistant at the gas station…all with the paparazzi in tow.

The thing is, and this isn’t something that a lot of people know because most people deal with illness through rest, and or medication, for Britney, remembering she exists is a balm to her soul and the only thing that reminds her that she exists is the fact that people follow her and take photos as well as the fact that after driving around her gas tank gets low. If she doesn’t have those two things, she falls into disrepair. Oh, plus a liter of carnauba wax enriched Green Tea Frapuccino. Those are her fuel and defense against the dark arts; frap, pap and an empty gas tank.

When she sits in a room by herself she can’t differentiate herself from the furniture.
She was sick. Those are the signs. [source]

It’s been a little while since Marilyn Manson reared his completely contrived head and blurted out something else designed by a group of PR Executives to make sure mothers of difficult teenagers in the Midwest still consider him a threat to their family’s stability and outward appearance thus ensuring his financial future.

So, thank GOD he thought to randomly mention the fact that his mother kept his foreskin in a small container and still has it. I mean, after the half assed launch of his badly titled brand of Absinthe called “Mansinthe” in Switzerland, I’d almost forgotten how macabre he is. Down to the core! I mean, the edginess and darkness that he embodies really astonishes me. Now I can think about it more and marvel as I fall asleep at night.

Apparently they’re hoping to sell it at Sotheby’s one day and may I say that I would most definitely be in line to spend as much money as I possibly could to secure that indulgence.
What’s next Manson – a children’s book that talks about how to kill yourself? Yawn. [source]

Today in Extraordinarily Odd

Merriam Webster’s Word of the Year is “wOOt” and frankly, I’m just astounded because the two Os are actually meant to be zeros and therefore it’s not really a word. Or maybe it is, I don’t know. It’s a borderline SMS term and that just feels cheap. Apparently, if the Os are just letters then it stands for “We Owned the Other Team”. I remember when one year the word of the year was Bird Flu and I just thought that was stupid because it’s not even two words. God, what is happening? [source]

A 64 year old man at the Nuremberg airport nearly died when he decided to drink an entire liter of vodka at an airport rather than simply give it up or pack it into his suitcase. Mind you, he had probably already checked his luggage so that wasn’t an option. It’s a wise man who decides to not waste the 12 dollars he spent on a bottle of duty free vodka by bringing himself closer to death. And the other thing is, he probably would have gotten away with it too if it hadn’t been for that meddling liver. I hate that stupid 8 oz rule. It always means I have to give up Champagne that I forget is in my carry on bag. Those are sad moments. They are TEARFUL moments and the heartless customs, security people just don’t care. [source]

The Muslim nation of Tajikistan is cracking down on witchcraft and the occult at the moment because apparently it’s on the rise. They’ve apparently been taking a leaf out of China’s book and have banned extravagant weddings and funerals too. So far it seems they’re right on track to a brilliant, bright future with all the main social problems any society experiences having been safely and efficiently identified and quarantined. How excellent. The only problem now is, what the hell is there to DO in Tajikistan now that witchcraft, the occult, extravagant weddings and extravagant funerals are out. Maybe something macramé based? Yes, that sounds divine. [source]

The New York Post reports that a French producer named Phillippe Rebboah wants Britney Spears to play the Virgin Mary in a new satire titled "Sweet Baby Jesus." He was quoted as saying:

"I had to convince my partners, because they were like, 'Oh, no. Britney?' But I thought it was brilliant."

And you know, it’s just a bit too obvious. This is just re-hashing the same tired old reactionary religious sacrilege that grabs cheap ratings that Madonna used back when she released “Like a Virgin”. But, whatever. If the Catholics get riled – and they will – then it’s always a good show. Plus, maybe contextualizing the Virgin Mary as a psychologically frazzled pregnant teenager who can’t quite keep it together long enough to scrape the encrusted vomit from her face or put on underwear will dispel the unfair myth that righteousness is only something clean people can achieve. It will democratize the notion of who is actually “blessed”.

What’s the bet that Britney would suddenly remember her rancid ass Republican roots, stiffen up and consider it an inappropriate cultural statement and decline the offer though? For Britney, surely some things are sacred and I mean, what’s left that she hasn’t actually desecrated? Bring on the Pop Virg. [source]

The New York Post reports that Madonna was doing a yoga class at the Reebok Sports Club on Columbus Avenue and she started talking to the teacher who replied by saying that they don’t talk in yoga class.

So, Madonna apparently went all zen dragon lady and said:

"I need to speak to you (the teacher)," and then said to the class, "I want you all to leave."

So they all apparently left and she started doing yoga by herself in the room.
Frankly this is the lamest story ever. I simply don’t believe this course of events makes any real sense. She stopped a class and asked everyone to leave and then just did yoga by herself? What the hell was she doing in a class anyway? Wouldn’t she just get a private teacher? Plenty of rich people do that; they get a yoga teacher to arrive at their home of office and then save time and the unpleasantness of having to not talk during class.

PLUS – and this is the real problem with this story – there is no WAY that out of 25 New Yorkers who live on the Upper West Side that do yoga on a Saturday morning, not one of them told Madonna to shut the hell up. No. Way. In. Hell. Maybe 20 of them kept quiet and shivered in the corner but there’s always one New Yorker who cracks under the stress of an incident and lashes out. Even Madonna would have been no match for a riled Upper West Side dwelling hard assed New York Yoga student. Those type are an unharnessed weapon.

This story is total bullshit. It’s top quality work but it’s bullshit. [source]

Paris Hilton’s new ad campaign for Rich Prosecco in a can has come out and it features her completely naked, covered in gold and hanging out in some kind of desert. Yeah, I guess it’s a desert.

Fox quotes Paris Hilton as saying:

"I changed all the light bulbs to energy safe light bulbs and I'm buying a hybrid car right now," Hilton said, adding that she also turned off the lights at home, didn't leave the TV on or the water running when she left the home. "Little things that people can do every day to make a huge difference."

This is in the same article. So, I guess now we can all sleep at night knowing that when Paris goes out at night she doesn’t leave the bath, kitchen sink and hose running. How novel and important.

But anyway, the interesting thing about Paris Hilton as the spokesperson of choice for Prosecco is that she’s sort of like the cultural human equivalent of Prosecco in America. In my experience, more often than not, Americans don’t know the difference between Champagne and Prosecco – it gets called Champagne all the time – like say, in the lede paragraph for the Fox News article linked as a source to this post.

Champagne is drier than Prosecco and it’s made in France only. If it isn’t made in France, it isn’t Champagne. Prosecco is a sweeter, lighter Italian wine and it can be made anywhere. Sort of like Paris herself. She’s the cultural equivalent of the toxic corn syrup that laces everything cheap in America, she’s totally light on talent and substance and she’s easily consumed as a pop culture item anywhere in America. There’s nothing exclusive or illustrious about her. Plus, the added bonus that this Prosecco comes in cans is even more apt. Canned wine is even worse than boxed wine let alone a cheaper, lower quality equivalent to Champagne that comes in a can.
After all, Paris is the cheaper, lower quality equivalent to actual news.

Oh, how delightfully wicked and literary I’m feeling at the moment. It must be all the vitamin B in these Emergenc-C sachets I’m guzzling in my water. Up next, I’ll be getting out of these wet clothes and into a dry martini. [source]

Today in Extraordinarily Odd

63% of Australian respondents of a survey about obese people and airline travel think that fat people should be made to buy more than one seat when they travel so they don’t take up other people’s space. They’re talking about clinically obese people not just your average porcine overeater. I mean, people who really test the boundaries of their own skin. Actually, to be fair they didn’t clarify what constitutes too fat. Essentially though, it would be amazing to be in the customer service training for a course that teaches new employees how to tell a morbidly obese matron that she has to buy two seats because she’s too large to fit in one. “Right, everyone, now if the customer starts to cry just wait until they’re finished to ask for the credit card information.” [source]

As Beijing gets ready for the 2008 Olympics, hotels in the Olympic city are pushing their rates higher than high but apparently it doesn’t mean that you actually should actually expect to pay ten times the normal price – which is about what most of the hotels are asking. Apparently the idea is that you’re meant to haggle with the hotel for a room and also, inflating prices is a strange defense mechanism that Chinese businesses often employ. Beijing’s Olympics are flat out going to be the most insane, frenetic, stressful and angsty freakshow ever. The Chinese will be acting like it’s all world class but everything will be going wrong and people will get sick and robbed every minute. It’s going to be the biggest world class city version of Fawlty Towers ever. I’m so excited. [source]

Rush and Molloy are reporting that Ryan Gosling was seen hugging and exchanging numbers with Hayden Panettiere in LA which leads me to immediately assume that they are trying to be the next Beckham power polarity couple.

Ryan Gosling is extremely talented, humanly good looking and comes across as an actual actor and not just because he wasn’t afraid to get fat to get a part in a film. I just watched Half Nelson and he was kick ass. Hayden Panettiere on the other hand is a fame hungry, relentlessly perky little pop princess wannabe who is hell bent on reining in the desperation and any facial evidence of her starving soul at all times to ensure maximum marketability in America. Apart , of course, from the time she lashed out to maul a journalist at the Emmys because he got in the way of her master plan by writing something mean about her.

If Panettiere and Gosling can just join forces perhaps they can recreate the business model pioneered by the Beckhams; all talent and goodness in one person and all need and classless tunascence in another. They cancel each other out and become an unbeatable publicity machine. [source]

PETA have just launched their new website and myspace page dedicated to aggressively attacking every facet of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen because of their use of fur. They’ve put together a website and renamed the girls Hairy Kate and Trashley Olsen. Oh, genius.
Plus, the great part about the myspace site for the Trollsens is the way people have left startlingly honest comments underneath the graphic image of them.
Well done! Looks just like them. - “It’s Julie, Bitch”.
how accurate!! – “Christina”.
That actually just looks like them – “Brigitte”
How creative! It looks just like them!! Identical!!!Good job! (= - ♥»]åמ¡ løνës Lύis«♥ {Frøm Ørîgînål $mîlîng Gîrlz} – and we can only assume that all the shit in the letters means the person is currently tripping.
But, anyway, while wearing fur can be totally evil PETA always seems to be made up of the angriest, most aggressive schoolyard bully victims of all the different left wing civil rights groups and charity causes. They always come up with the most antagonistic and violent ways of insisting that everyone realize how antagonistic and violent the fur trade is. Protesting for a cause is always a great way to channel your hatred and anger of your parents or the person who beat you up at school because you can always feel like the cause is worthwhile and that your actions are justified. Whenever they launch a new campaign I feel like I learn more about their own abusive childhoods than the actual cause.
It’s like man hating lesbian vegans who sit at dinner and asshole at you because you’re male even if you’re gay. Actually, if you’re gay they just treat you as though you are a woman or they treat you as though you’re a straight bully jock and blame your for their abused childhood. The amount of times I’ve had to be at dinner with women who argue that all problems stem from men and the patriarchy is astounding. But sometimes it’s just so annoying to hear that I can’t get away. I just can’t get away from it.
Plus, this one time I was doing market research about cigarettes and this self righteous hippy girl who was studying for an arts degree walked into the room wearing a second hand brown crocheted poncho and complained that there weren’t any whole wheat bread sandwiches and she also proudly exclaimed that she had never smoked a tailor made cigarette in her life. God, she was begging to be slapped in the kisser. Pow! Right in the Kisser.

So much angst, so little therapy. Ok, sure. Why not aggressively destroy the characters of the Olsens? What will they notice anyway. They’re sort of dead on the inside. Maybe that’s why they wear fur – to keep the hissing coal that burns within them from going out. Yeah, no idea how that would work either but I just like the idea that they have lumps of hissing coal instead of souls. [source]

The Post reports that Lawrence O’Donnell who appears on HBO’s series “Big Love” the story of a polygamist Mormon with three wives is also an MSNBC pundit and, of course, they added that he is a Democrat. Can I just say that I love the fact that people can be Hollywood actors AND advisors to US Senators as O'Donnell is. It's so reassuring.

So, anyway, O’Donnell was a guest on The McLaughlin Group talking about Mitt Romney being a Mormon and he described Mormonism as being:

"demented, Scientology-like . . . racist faith . . . based on the work of a lying, fraudulent criminal . . . [who was] anti-American, pro-slavery, and a rapist."

McLaughlin was yelling at him to stop talking but he didn’t.

And the thing is, even though he’s getting raked over the coals for saying that – and the real trouble he is in has got to be about PR linking back to the fact that he works on a show about Mormons – what he said is more or less true. Joseph Smith was a lying fraudulent con-artist. But then, it’s more or less true of basically all religion anyway so if you really want to talk about how freaking insane religion is you can’t single out the Mormons. Every brand of faith always essentially boils down to being the ideas of a group of people hell bent on economic and or political dominance. That’s it. Most religion is totally ludicrous when you really examine where it came from and what it’s about.

But also, rational discourse about faith isn’t possible during an election. It’s all mostly skimming over the top and meaningless rhetoric about acceptance of difference. Discussion about acceptance is meaningless because no religion is fully tolerant of any other religion. That’s not how it works. Therefore political arguments about religion are really just an exercise in walking through a field of landmines.

Anyway, in short, kudos to you Lawrence O’Donnell. But did you have to pretty much ensure that your actual day job came under fire? There are so many other religions to choose from. [source]

The New York Post reports that a photo of Anna Wintour that is making the rounds via the Conde Nast PR department has been heavily retouched to make her look younger. Oh wow, ok quick – let’s call the New York Times and make sure they know. Who would have THOUGHT? I mean, who would have thought that the head honcho of Vogue Magazine would want to ensure that she looks less flawed in the press, press which will no doubt document her legacy as one of the world’s most influential aesthetes.

I mean, if fashion is nothing else – and it isn’t – it is about the adornment of the outer layer. Consequently, news that suggests Anna Wintour has given instructions to people to enrich her appearance isn’t actually news. I don’t know if she’s had her face stapled or sewn up but if she had she would the most likely on my list of people after Tara Reid, Faye Dunaway and Amanda Lepore.

Still, I guess it’s always interesting to think that someone that powerful and stern could have a moment of soul crushing weakness that would prompt her to command that something be done about the appearance of bags under her eyes. Like, one morning she was sitting there and she saw her headshot and she charged out of the office leaving the photo in the trash. That would be a sign to her army of underlings to quickly see to it that all images be fixed. It’s all in the repressed tears. Plus, the underlings have learned to read her signs and also her mind. The parts she has unlocked for them. There are parts no one can get to, parts that Anna Wintour herself hasn’t even accessed. She has the ability to suck her tears back into her head apparently. That’s what someone told me and I’d believe them.

In other news, Pete Doherty doesn’t use deodorant. I mean, come ON! [source]
